FOUR SECONDARY INGREDIENTS

We have determined that after the record is complete, there are four secondary ingredients that normally help in achieving success:

  1. Live show. Once the record has been passed on to different music companies, the first question they typically ask is “When can we see the act live?” Thus an important secondary ingredient is the live performance. The artist should form a band of excellent musicians and start performing the songs on his record. We help our acts recruit players and affiliate with booking agencies, so that they can begin to develop a following.

  2. Growth. Another significant ingredient is a track record of growth, music entities want to see results. Results are best communicated through figures:
    1. -How may CDs have been sold?
    2. -How much airplay is the record getting?
    3. -How many people have visited the artist’s website?
    4. -How any people are coming to the shows?
We help our acts keep track of these numbers.

  3. Acoustic Version. A third helpful secondary ingredient is an acoustic version of the record. We have found that it is usually more effective to present both a fully produced version and an acoustic version of an album to different music companies. The fully produced version communicates the act’s direction and vision, whereas the acoustic version lets the listener hear the songs and vocals “stripped down,” displaying the project “for what it is.” After all, a lot of music-industry folks are “business” people, not musicians, and often the acoustic version helps convince them. We can help develop acoustic versions of our artists’ records at a virtually negligible cost.

  4. Website. A fourth ingredient is a website. Artists need them. And we can help you get one that rocks. Just look at this site!
